ASMR Journey ( the beginning )

In 2010,nearly a decade ago Jennifer Allen coined the term ASMR. It all started when she discovered a forum where people described their sensory experiences which made her realize that she was not alone on her way. Then more and more people started to join, proving that almost everyone has their own experience of stimulation.

Nowadays, it's been very clearly proven that ASMR simple content has captured the attention of the most famous celebrities around the world and even pop musicians, actors and their own ASMR video creation models. It may somehow be related to the fact that many of us today fall into anxiety that prevents us from calming down and falling asleep.

This has not yet been clearly explained from a scientific point of view. The ASMR or Autonomous Sensory Meridian response is the sensation felt at the back of your head as it moves to your back and side. The study was conducted with a specific group of people and found that in reality not everyone responds to ASMR stimuli. But if people did, they would probably have the same reaction. More worryingly, the effects of ASMR on stress reduction can be compared to music or emotional practice.

Logically, ASMR recording requires a high quality, high sensitivity microphone. Otherwise, the effect will not be the same. There are many popular ASMR bloggers out there who have literally gained millions of views on their videos - obviously you need top notch tools to reach their level.Since this phenomenon has become very common nowadays, new alternatives have appeared on the market. It's fair to say that you don't have much chance of successful ASMR recording with just a regular microphone. There are now microphones that mimic the structure of hearing, allow speakers to directly affect different regions, and “position” audio players with many changes. You may also need additional adapters.

Another key point to keep in mind is that a dynamic microphone may not be suitable in this case. You need to capture smooth, detailed sound in contrast to the dynamic, wide sound of the microphone. So it's just a synthetic blend, as they are able to deliver the kind of smooth, transparent sound used in ASMR videos.
